Hertfordshire Sports Village, Hatfield was the location for the penultimate tournament of the year for Coleshill based Taekwon-Do club ITF Fusion.
Five members of Fusion entered the 2015 Unified ITF Taekwon-Do World Championships, which included participants from as far away as Australia.
Wayne Burns, 4th degree black belt was the first to come home with the medals having won bronze in both his 4th-6th degree patterns and +90kg sparring.
The juniors then competed in their individual patterns and battled through many tough rounds against students from all over the world, and the results were as follows:-
Taylor Smith, junior blue belt won GOLD against USA
Jack Smith, junior green belt won GOLD against South Africa
Ty Thomas, junior yellow belt won GOLD against Poland
The students now all hold the prestigious title of 2015 Unified ITF TKD World Champions for their respective grades.
Miles Crook, blue belt was the final student to compete in his first tournament since joining the club; he came away with 2 medals! Bronze in patterns and GOLD in adult -70kg sparring having beat his USA competitor in the tough final. Miles also now holds the title of 2015 Unified ITF TKD World Champion for his weight and grade.
The team trained extremely hard prior to the tournament and were well rewarded with outstanding results for the Coleshill based club.
ITF Fusion promotes self defence, confidence, discipline and fitness where all ages and ability are welcome. All students train under current ITF England coach, Wayne Burns, 4th degree black belt who runs classes from Coleshill Leisure Centre on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday evenings.
