Kickathon

Everyone at North East Martial Arts has been overwhelmed by the support we have got for Kickathon 2010. Money is still coming in and so far the total is over £1,500...a brilliant result. Over the week we performed almost 10,000 kicks , it was incredibly tiring but a lot of fun,as the video on www.northeastmartialarts.co.uk  shows.

Winners medals were awarded to the students who could perform the most kicks in 1 minute: For higher grades more advanced kicks such as reverse turning kicks had to be included.

Under 6's:

Gold - Sam Hume (South Gosforth) 108 kicks

Silver - Jude Norris (Tigers) 106 kicks

Bronze - Harrison Smith (Whitley Bay) 99 kicks

Beginners:

Gold - Kate Armstrong (South Gosforth) 128 kicks

Silver - Andrew Shipley (Broadway) 122 kicks

Bronze - Oliver Clare (Tigers) 116 kicks

Intermediates:

Gold - Tadgh Brennan (Longbenton) 117 kicks

Silver - Omkar Dixit (Jesmond) 115 kicks

Bronze - Jed Kilday (South Gosforth) 107 kicks

Bronze - George Robson (Longbenton) 107 kicks

Advanced:

Gold - Steph Robson (Longbenton) 121 kicks

Silver - Tania Gopaulen (South Gosforth) 100 kicks

Bronze - Holly Appleby (Whitley Bay) 98 kicks

Medals will also be awarded to students who raised over £50 sponsorship each. Well done to Bethany Doherty who despite being injured and unable to kick still completed a ‘Punchathon’ and raised a massive £120 on her own.
